History
Property tax is the primary source of funding for local governments, public schools, and other taxing entities that serve and protect our communities. Property taxes are based on the assessed value of taxable property and provide a stable and predictable revenue source. Unlike sales or income taxes, property tax revenue is less affected by economic fluctuations. The County Assessor is responsible for valuing all properties uniformly and in compliance with Idaho law to ensure that property taxes are distributed fairly and equitably across the county.
