RE: Public Meetings for Elmore County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

Elmore County Will Host Public Meetings in September to Discuss Hazard Plan

ELMORE COUNTY, IDAHO – Four public meetings will be held across Elmore County to explain and discuss the update process for the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The meetings will take place in Pine and Glenns Ferry on Tuesday September 24 and in Mountain Home and Oasis on Wednesday September 25 (see details below). The meetings are designed to explain the purpose of the Elmore County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, report on the progress made on the 2019 plan update, and take questions, comments, or other input.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires that counties update their hazard mitigation plan every five years to remain eligible for federal funding for hazard mitigation projects. The cities of Mountain Home and Glenns Ferry are currently recognized as adopting jurisdictions in the plan and will adopt the 2019 plan update. The Oasis Fire Protection District also intends to adopt the plan this year.

Once the planning team produces a final draft of the 2019 plan update, people will have an opportunity to view the draft and respond during a public-comment period.
