Hiring UI Extension Program Assistant

ELMORE AMBULANCE SERVICE

Elmore County is looking for applicants to fill two (2) full-time EMT-B and one (1) full-time Paramedic position in the Elmore Ambulance Service (EAS) Department: (Refer to job description for full details and requirements).

EMT-B

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) has certification and licensure as an EMT and provides basic-level life support under the direction of paramedics and AEMT’s.  Hourly pay is offered at:  $13.50-$15.51 DOQ.

Temporary Building Plans Examiner

Temporary part-time position expected to last for six months.   Hourly pay is offered at $17.02-20.08 DOE/DOQ and does not include benefits.

The Building Plans Examiner is responsible for technical review of residential, commercial, and other construction plans to ensure compliance with the current zoning and building codes of Elmore County under general guidance of Building Official and Land Use and Building Director. This employee reviews plans, provides written comments, and enforces all rules and ordinances related to building codes and other general health, welfare, and safety matters with integrity and professionalism.

The principal function is to:

  1. Review all building permits for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and structures;
  2. Read and interpret engineering, architectural, and construction drawings and diagrams for permits, including structural, grading, and floodplain development; and
  3. Provide timely and consistent comments and written recommendations to Building Official for all building plans and permits.
 

The work involves administration and enforcement of adopted building and fire codes covering new construction and alternations and repair of existing buildings. Work is performed independently in office environment with use of good technical judgment and decision-making. Considerable technical independence is granted per guidelines established by the Elmore County Code and other laws, ordinances, and regulations of the State and County. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment. Time will need to be managed independently to coordinate with other staff members, complete plan reviews, and communicate results with Building Official.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent certificate.

ELMORE AMBULANCE SERVICE EMT – RESERVE PROGRAM

EMT-B

ELMORE AMBULANCE SERVICE

is looking for Part-Time EMTs and on-call Drivers for the Pine area

Elmore County is looking for applicants to fill Part-Time EMT positions in the Elmore Ambulance Service (EAS) Department: (Refer to job description for full details and requirements).  In addition, there is a need for EMTs or Drivers to support the emergency services function of the Pine-Featherville area. DRIVERS- EAS Drivers fulfill manning shortages and only perform in the capacity of driving to support full-time staff.  This position operates as an on-call, as needed basis, which requires flexibility and also availability when paged.  Drivers are paid $25.00 per hour when responding to needs, with a two-hour minimum for calls initiating in the Pine-Featherville area. Must have clean driving record, current Idaho drivers license, and this position is subject to drug-testing.   • Operate and monitor technical audio-visual electronic security consoles;

Primary duties include: serve as a centralized communications agent connecting Police, Fire, and EMS personnel to emergency situations.  Receive calls and relay information and instructions for county-wide police, fire, medical and other emergency personnel and to receive and transmit messages and information between police divisions and other local agencies.  The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor or designated Senior Dispatcher, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal function of an employee in this class is to receive emergency calls and relay information and instructions for county-wide police, fire, medical and other emergency personnel, and to receive and transmit messages and information between law enforcement and other local agencies.  The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Dispatch Sergeant, Dispatch Corporal, or designated Senior Dispatcher, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in a central communications center requiring constant attention to several communications sources at any given time.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; preferably supplemented by additional training in safety communications operations; and
  • Some related experience in emergency communications operations; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities which demonstrate competence in the above requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a full background check, to include a polygraph, psychological evaluation, and drug test.

Detention Center Deputy

Elmore County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for a Detention Center Deputy.

Full-time hourly position with Elmore County.   Hourly pay is offered at $19.24-$22.81 per hour (DOE & POST Certification), plus an exceptional benefits package including: PERSI retirement, excellent medical insurance and vacation/sick/holiday leave.  General duties in this position include:  Supervise inmates in county jail in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures and in the providing of security to the Elmore County Detention Center; performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications:

Acceptable Experience and Training

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Additional Qualifications

  • Valid Idaho State driver’s license;
  • POST Certification within one hear of hire;
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), including a polygraph exam and a psychological evaluation, and drug testing.
  • Other certification may be required to perform specialized training and/or supervisory duties;
  • First Aid Certification
