County Mechanic II

Elmore County is seeking to fill a full-time Mechanic II position for Elmore County in Mountain Home, ID.  

This position is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, inspections, and safety checks of Elmore County vehicles.  The work will be performed in coordination with various Department Heads/Elected Officials along with our Procurement department. Work will be performed primarily in a County shop, location, but may require the ability to work in adverse weather conditions to conduct emergency vehicle repairs.

Esssential Duties Include:

  • Inspecting and repairing vehicles, machinery, and light trucks
  • Perform necessary safety checks on all vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance, oil changes, services, etc as needed.
  • Conducting electrical and mechanical diagnostics and repairs
  • Replacing vehicle parts as needed
  • Ability to use all types of automotive maintenance equipment, AC service, battery service, brake tools and other electronic equipment
  • Ordering replacement parts for various makes and models of cars and trucks
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Overseeing maintenance inspections and records of all vehicles
  • Monitoring inventory of parts
  • Assembling mechanical components as needed for repairs and replacements
  • Provide 24 hour service if necessary for emergency vehicle repairs
  • Schedule and do follow ups on vehicles that need to outsourced to other shops.

Acceptable Experience and Training

  • Minimum 5 year experience in the automotive repair industry
  • Mechanic certification, ASE certification, Auto Technology will be preferred but will be required within 1 year of hire
  • Valid Idaho drivers license and clean driving record. Background check will be required.

This position is 40 hours per week, specific hours vary and are dependent on need. Must have some ability to respond after hours to support emergency vehicle repairs. Pay for this position $18.38+ DOE and certification status.

Fair Maintenance Specialist

Elmore County is seeking to fill a full-time Maintenance Specialist position for the County Fairgrounds in Glenns Ferry, ID.  

The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of tasks associated with grounds maintenance and general cleaning of the Elmore County Fair facility. The work will be performed under the supervision of the Fair Manager. Most of the work is performed outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions with related hazards. Most duties are performed according to established routines and schedules and are repetitive in nature.

Esssential Duties Include:

  • Maintaining outbuildings, barns, fencing and other areas.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking public and private restrooms.
  • Setting up for events as required and cleaning up after events. General landscape maintenance, repairing and maintaining buildings as needed.
  • Must be able to perform basic repair and maintenance tasks related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry in a safe manner and perform all work duties and activities in accordance with county policies, procedures, and safety practices.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds safely, use a variety of hand and electric tools and equipment.

Acceptable Experience and Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent general educational development (GED) certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance, trade or craft areas, and cleaning; or

Driver's License Clerk

Elmore County is actively seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Driver’s License Clerk in the Sheriff’s Office in Mountain Home, ID.

This position is entry-level, and the primary responsibilities include issuing licenses and ID cards, collecting money, giving exams, accepting concealed weapons permits, registering sex offenders, and recording all license information along with all County citations. 

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate significant attention to detail, demonstrated ability to operate office equipment including phones, adding machines, copy machine, cash register, and the eye test machine. This position requires the ability to count money, handle interpersonal interactions with tact and professionalism, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and be able to change tasks at a moment’s notice.

Certified Property Appraiser (Trainee)

Elmore County is actively seeking a Certified Property Appraiser (Trainee) in the Assessor’s Office in Mountain Home, ID.

This position is entry-level, and will perform technical duties related to the appraisal of improved and unimproved rural, farm, and residential land, manufactured homes, and/or personal property to determine market value for ad valorem tax purposes. The Trainee will observe and assist Certified Property Appraisers in the performance of their duties, and will be provided formal class work, on-the job training, and

Elmore County is Hiring a Trail Groomer Operator for Area 20

Looking to immediately hire a seasonal hourly position with Elmore County to perform Area 20 trail grooming operations on designated trail systems in Elmore County. Initial hourly pay is offered at $15.00 during the 30-day probationary period and may increase depending on training completion and qualifications.  This position does not have benefits. The needs of this position are dependent upon the snowfall and hours will fluctuate without any guarantee of work.

Duties include performing pre-operation and post-operation inspections, maintain trails, clear debris, use of radio, maintain accurate and current reports.  The work is performed under the direction of the Elmore County Area 20 Snowmobile Groomer Coordinator and Board of County Commissioners.

ELMORE AMBULANCE SERVICE EMT – RESERVE PROGRAM

ELMORE AMBULANCE SERVICE

is looking for Part-Time EMTs and on-call Drivers for the Pine area

Elmore County is looking for applicants to fill Part-Time EMT positions in the Elmore Ambulance Service (EAS) Department: (Refer to job description for full details and requirements).  In addition, there is a need for EMTs or Drivers to support the emergency services function of the Pine-Featherville area.

DRIVERS-

EAS Drivers fulfill manning shortages and only perform in the capacity of driving to support full-time staff.  This position operates as an on-call, as needed basis, which requires flexibility and also availability when paged.  Drivers are paid $25.00 per hour when responding to needs, with a two-hour minimum for calls initiating in the Pine-Featherville area.

Must have clean driving record, current Idaho drivers license, and this position is subject to drug-testing.

You will also be required to attend and pass an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) prior to becoming an active employee on the roster.

EMT-

  • Operate and monitor technical audio-visual electronic security consoles;

Full-time hourly position with Elmore County.   Hourly pay is offered at $18.72 – $22.14 DOQ.  Wage increases will occur as training and certification are completed.  This position offers a $1000 hiring bonus–50% upon hire and 50% upon completion of FTO training. Primary duties include: serve as a centralized communications agent connecting Police, Fire, and EMS personnel to emergency situations.  Receive calls and relay information and instructions for county-wide police, fire, medical and other emergency personnel and to receive and transmit messages and information between police divisions and other local agencies.  The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor or designated Senior Dispatcher, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. An employee in this class may perform the duties of other employees within the Sheriff’s Department.  The principal duties of this class are performed in a central communications center requiring constant attention to several communications sources at any given time.

Dispatch Emergency Call Taker
